MY TRIP TO LINCOLN CATHEDRAL

I went on a school trip to Lincoln Cathedral. We went on a bus from school. We were put into groups of 6 including a adult my adult was Mrs Streeter . We went inside the cathedral when I looked up it looked so huge. I enjoyed looking at the pictures on the windows under the pictures were name of people who has paid for it to be made. There was people on chairs praying. We also got to climb in the pit where they christened people. My favourite part was seeing the imp and hearing the story about the imp I had a really good day and it was time to go home.

My Day At Lincoln Cathedral

We went from school on a bus.
when we arrived i liked the Bishops Eye and the little Imp because their was a story about him.

I liked the stones and one of them was carved as a person.

We looked at the grave stones and read peoples names and i enjoyed sketching the different shapes.

Then we all came home on the bus.

It was a fun day.

Thank you

Ruby
My favourite thing in Lincoln Cathedral was the lectern with the golden eagle standing on the world. It was standing on the world because the golden eagle is the king of birds, and is supposed to show God as king of the world. There were three golden lions under the world to protect the world. The minister reads the bible from the lectern.

I also liked the story of the Lincoln Imp. The imp was very naughty and went into the Cathedral when he was told not to so the angel turned him into stone.

I really enjoyed the Cathedral.

Lincoln Cathedral visit

I`m very pleased I went on the school trip to see the Lincoln Cathedral.

It was very exciting to see Cathedral, it was a lot bigger than our church in Caythorpe and I really liked the Imps, dragons and owls carved in the stone.

I really like the colours that where made on the floor by the sun shining in through the stained glass windows.

My favorite part of my visit was seeing all the gold and silverware.

I thought the story of the imp was really good, for those who don`t know the story here it is.

One day, the Devil sent his little Imps out to play, and the wind blew two of them all the way to Lincoln. They were too scared to enter the Minster but finally one was blown in. He began to cause mischief, first he tried to trip up the Lord Bishop and knocked down the Dean. Then he teased the Verger and Choir, but when he started to break windows the Angels told him to stop and he was promptly turned to stone, with his mischievous grin on his face.

It was a really good visit I hope to go again.

Jessica's homework 11.05.12

On Monday Kestrel class went to the Lincoln Cathedral. We went by double decker bus, Year 2 got to sit at the top. When we got there we found the tub where they christen baby’s. When we were sketching the pew was being played ready for Tuesday. A man called Tom helped us around the Cathedral. We all found the Lincoln imp. After that we all eat lunch outside. Big Tom rang while we were eating. Then we started are sketching. I drew a picture of the Golden Eagle. When it was time to go we went on the double decker bus, we got to sit at the top again
The Lincoln imp was my favourite thing in the Cathedral.

We went to the cathedral. I learned the Lincoln Imp story as well. My favourite bit was the Imp. I even saw it. The Imp is a very naughty creature that snuck into the cathedral. The angels even turned him into stone.
I saw the Bishops eye. They have 2 pulpits. There are 4000 pipes in the organ.
I enjoyed the trip very much.

My day at Lincon Cathedral
We left school and went by coach to Lincoln cathedral. When we got there we split up into groups and saw some amazing things. My group had a tour around the cathedral. I was amazed at the Bishop's Eye, a huge round stained glass window that shone with pretty colours on the floor when the sun shined through it.

We also saw the Lincolnshire imp, who is on my school uniform, high up on the wall between two arches. We saw the large organ with shiny gold pipes and while we were there they were practising and the sound made me sad and think of God. At dinner time we had a lovely picnic outside and then we went back into the cathedral and saw some wood carvings made from lots of different types of wood. The cathedral was a geat school trip.On the way back home the teacher asked us what was our favourite thing at the cathedral, mine was the beautiful stained glass windows.

Dear Grandma

On Monday, I went to Lincoln Cathedral.  The building was amazing.  In the cathedral, the stone work was good and the stained glass windows were beautiful.  I also enjoyed learning about the ‘Bishop’s Eye’.  Here is a picture of the inside of Lincoln Cathedral.

I had lunch outside with Jess and then we played together.

I am looking forward to seeing you soon.

Lots of love

Lincoln Cathedral

I liked the Lincoln imp. There was a naughty imp one night he and his friend went on a horse. They came across a church the angel had left the doors open. the imp ran in .he made a big mess so the angel turned him into stone.

We saw the deans eye, beautiful ceilings, carved dragons, and a gold organ. The stained glass windows were really fun to look at.

The Lincoln Cathedral Trip
By Maceo

It was a sunny day, we left school at 9.30, and arrived around 10.  It was quite a long way.
When we got there we walked from the bus stop to the Cathedral, it took around ten minutes.
The Cathedral looked ginormous and pointy, it was a light brown colour. It looked old, and it made me feel excited.
Inside the Cathedral we counted fifty chairs which is a lot of chairs.  There were about eight rooms; my favourite one was the Angel Choir because the shields were there.  I thought the shields were quite interesting, how they had detailed parts, and they were quite delicate.
There was a big organ, it has four thousand pipes. The pipes go from the organ and through the ceiling and roof of the Cathedral for everyone to hear.
We also saw the pews; the Lectern where people stand to read or speak about the Bible; and a Bishops Chair.
About 2.45 we had lunch at the Cathedral cafe, and then we had break time on the grass outside.  After lunch we went to the Angel Choir to do some sketching, I drew a blue and brown shield.
The last thing we did was see the bells, they were quite tinsy.
We had an adventurous day, and I would recommend anyone going to see Lincoln Cathedral.

Christopher

I went to Lincoln cathedral on a coach. It was fantastic, it was big, and we walked around the cathedral,
I had a packed lunch for dinner; we went on a guided tour around the ground floor of the cathedral.
I found out the dragon put bad thoughts in to your minds. I like the top, because of the spikes
