Lincoln Cathedral Visit

On Monday 30th April, the children in Kestrel Class were very excited to be travelling to Lincoln Cathedral. As they were the oldest children on the trip, they were even allowed on the upper deck of our double decker coach!

When we arrived, we explored the amazing building in small groups. Some very kind volunteers showed us around and told us stories about the Lincoln Imp who was so naughty that he was turned to stone until he learned to behave. He is still there, so he must not have learnt his lesson.

We looked at the magnificent Bishop's Eye, which is a huge stained glass window.

After lunch in the cloister (in the wonderful sunshine), we did some sketching and tried to find out as much as possible about the Cathedral.

The children were a credit to the school and were a delight to take out. Huge thanks to
Miss Bradbury, Mrs Streeter and Mrs Pontin for accompanying us on the visit.
