What do Sunflower Seeds Need to Grow?

In science, we are thinking about what plants need to grow. We think that a sunflower seed needs light, warmth, soil and water to grow.
To see if we are right we decided to each plant our own seed with light, warmth, soil and light. We then planted four other seeds as follows:
One with no light (in a cupboard).
One with no water.
One with no warmth (in the fridge!)
One with no soil.

We are watching them very carefully to see if our predictions are correct!
We are also keeping track of how our own seeds are growing and recording our findings in our Sunflower Diaries. We hope to be able to plant the sunflowers in Kestrel's garden after half term (although this will depend on whether Mrs Leeks keeps them all alive over the holiday!!)

Take a look at some of our photos so far!
