Homework - there will be no theme based homework this year but we do ask that you support and encourage your child to do the following:
Reading – at least 5 minutes every night. After your child reads to
you, ask them simple questions about what they have just read to ensure they
have understood it fully. Please feel free to write in any questions/comments
you have in this diary and ensure you inform you child so that they can pass
the diary onto us for viewing.
Spelling - Every Friday there will be a spelling test. Please assist
you child with memorising the words and spelling patterns. The Look, Cover
Write method may help. Ten spellings will be tested out of the list and out of
order.
Times Tables - Your child will move through the 12 times
tables after successfully completing the previous one. Times tables test may
also include inverse calculations such as 24 ÷ 3 =) which helps assess
children’s understanding of number.
I am looking forward to meeting you all at the parents evenings, please see the sheet on the classroom door to book a time.
