Children in Need Day - November 2012

On Friday 16th November, we had lots of fun at school, in order to raise money for Children in Need. Firstly, we were allowed to wear our pyjamas. (Some of us even brought our favourite teddies to join in the fun!)

We baked Pudsey Bear biscuits and once they were cold, we iced them. The best bit was sprinkling Hundreds and Thousands to make it look like Pudsey's fur. We used cherries for his mouth and raisins for his eyes. I'm not too sure how many of the biscuits would have actually arrived home, but hopefully, you'll be able to spot Pudsey in one or two of the photos. (By the way, did you know that Pudsey was named after the town in which the Graphic Designer who created him, was born? No, neither did I until last week.)

We tried to imagine what it must be like if you cannot see properly. One of us wore a blindfold and tried to navigate around the classroom by listening to our friends giving instructions. This was much more difficult than it sounds! Secondly we played a game where we had to shut our eyes and try to draw objects which other people described.

Kestrel Class children became designers for the day and decided what outfits might suit Pudsey. Boots had some exciting activities on their website and we enjoyed doing some maths  which was based around various Children in Need activities.

It was lovely to see the children having so much fun, whilst raising money for a very worthwhile cause. Thank you to you all for your donations.

Enjoy looking through the photos.
