Trip to The Hub

Our long awaited school trip day finally arrived. We travelled by coach and kept the driver amused (well that's one word for it) with some very lively singing.

Firstly, we observed some artefacts in one of the exhibitions. We had to use our detective skills to find objects which contained primary and secondary colours.

Secondly we split into two groups and discussed individual pieces of artwork. We commented on each piece of work and gave  our opinions.

In the afternoon, we took part in an art colour workshop, where we were given a card containing an emotion. We then had to create our own piece of work, based on work by Ella Robinson.

Some more pieces of artwork from the exhibition.

Please use the website below to find out more information about the venue.

A glass model of the E coli bacteria
Our last visit of the day was to the glass exhibition where we viewed a number of models which had been made to represent different bacteria.

World Book Day

As part of World Book Day, we wrote our own 'Three Little Pigs' story (using ICT).

Year 2 had a wonderful time sharing our favourite books with Year 5.

Even Winnie the Pooh made an appearance in Kestrel Class!

On Friday afternoon, we welcomed our Mums into school. They spent some time making 3D daffodils with us. A big thank you to everyone who visited. We hope you liked the flowers and that you had an enjoyable Mother's Day.

Assembly

Friday was a very busy day. It started with Kestrel Class's Assembly.
